How does being an Osteopath enhance my breathwork practice?

I naturally draw on my wealth of experience as an Osteopath, as breathing is not isolated to the ribs and breathing muscles. Our bodies are wonderful and complex, which means I assess my patients as a whole. For example is there a neck/cervical spine restricting affecting the neurological supply to the diaphragm and restricting the breathing muscles? Therefore I would recommend booking an initial 1-2-1 session, which can then be followed up by group or virtual sessions.

What benefits can be achieved through practicing Breathwork?

The Functional breathing techniques taught by the Oxygen Advantage approach can support you to:

  • Improve your health, long-term
  • Reduce stress, anxiety, and breathlessness
  • Enhance your concentration, focus, posture, and sleep
  • Ease asthmatic conditions
  • Boost your sports performance

What age can I be to start practicing breathwork?

Breathwork is the most powerful free tool at your disposal that can have a significant impact on your health and well-being at any age.

Breathwork can be used by children from as young as two, to help to calm and support them to learn how to bring themselves back into the present moment. Providing a tool for life.

Is there any reason why breathwork cannot be practiced?

There is only a limited number of conditions that I would recommend that person checks with a doctor before they start to practice breathwork, for example, a person suffering from severe mental illness or seizure disorders or for persons using major medications. This will be identified through an initial consultation.
