Getting Good at Stress

Having the pleasure of treating thousands of people in the last 21 years has given me great insight into the impact stress has on our mind/body. Influencing and causing problems ranging from postural dysfunction, headaches, digestive disorders, anxiety, neck and back pain to name a few. Stress is the underlying cause of many inflammatory disorders. It has been implicated in heart disease and cancer.

I have come to recognise the many strategies that we use to cope with life troubles and how culturally we have learnt to hide these problems so as not to appear unable to cope. Research over the last 10 years or more has started to reveal that the stress response is far more dynamic than what we have come to know as the ‘flight, fright response’.

The way we feel and think about stress has profound effects on our well- being in the short and long term.

 

I feel very passionate about sharing these new ideas with people and helping them to find simple but effective tools to change their long term health and happiness. I would like to inspire people to find balance and health in the short and long term. Increase energy to do the things they love to do and decrease the effects of stress on health. To empower people and show how stress can be good !
